OKITE® Care and maintenance

How to ensure your favourite surface a long life.

OKITE® has been specifically designed to provide unique strength and versatility. Its non-porous surface makes it stain-, scratch- and heat-resistant, thus offering your home the safety and purity required. Compared to surfaces made of marble, granite, limestone or soapstone, which need more challenging maintenance operations, OKITE® is much easier to clean. Thus it is very simple to preserve its beauty over time: just follow this advice:

Daily cleaning.

If liquids are accidentally spilled on the surface, just absorb them with some paper towel and then wash it with a dishtowel soaked in hot water and a liquid detergent.

Removal of stubborn stains.

In case of fouling, sticky substances like chewing gums, mustard, curry, grease, oil or water-based paints, gently remove the residue with a plastic round spatula. Clean your OKITE® top with a non-abrasive sponge and the a detergent or a general cleaning solvent or a kitchen cleaner like Marseille soap. Accurately rinse the surface with hot water and dry it with a clean cloth. Repeat the process, if necessary.

Cleaning of particular surfaces like the Aida or Leonardo

Some colours of the Aida and/or Leonardo Collection are more sensitive to fingerprints and grease stains, therefore a more accurate daily cleaning may be required. For normal daily cleaning, just use hot water and then dry with a clean cloth. In case of grease or oil stains, use a general cleaning solvent or a degreaser and leave it on the surface for 30 seconds. Accurately rinse and dry with a clean cloth. In the event of stubborn fouling or stains, apply a non-abrasive cream detergent with a damp sponge. Clean the whole surface with circular movements. Accurately rinse and dry with a clean cloth. For any stain, which cannot apparently be removed through normal cleaning operations, use the yellow part of a damp sponge, like Scotch-Brite®, with some detergent. Also in this case, clean the whole surface with circular movements. Accurately rinse with hot water and finally dry with a clean cloth. Warning: Use this method only if necessary.
